Tournament Rules
Official Rules:
1. These rules shall apply to all entrants of the 16th Annual Lake Fork Open Team Tournament hosted by J C Outdoors.
This tournament is open to all anglers. It is the contestant’s responsibility to read, understand and obey all rules of the tournament. Violation of any of these rules can result in disqualification from the event.
- All State, Federal, and Local laws must be obeyed.
- All entrants are subject to take a polygraph test. Failure to take and or pass polygraph test will result in disqualification.
Anyone who has ever failed a polygraph administered at a fishing tournament for cheating is not eligible to fish J C
Outdoors events.
- Any protest must be received in writing with TX numbers and signed within 15 minutes of final check-in deadline to be considered. Tournament director’s decisions will be final in all matters.
- All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship and courtesy at all J C Outdoors hosted events.
Alcohol and narcotics u ill not be allowed in the possession of contestants whether on their person or in their boat at any J C Outdoors event during tournament hours, unless prescription medicine as prescribed for tournament entrant.
6. A U.S. Coast Guard approved chest type PFD must be on and fastened anytime the combustion engine is in gear. (If tournament contestant is using a custom lifejacket a U.S.
Coast Guard approved chest type PFD must be on board for each contestant as well) All boats must meet U.S. Coast Guard standards. Outboard motors must not exceed boat manufactures ratings. Jet drive and air boats are not allowed.
All boats must have an emergency kill-switch and driver must be attached to kill switch anytime the combustion engine is in gear.
7. Off limits period of the lake for fishing, locating bass and shoreline spotting will begin at 9:00pm on Friday evening
May 24th the evening before the tournament. Boat slips, stalls, or beaching of boats is allowed on the night before tournament for convenience and easing of traffic at ramps. Contestants do not have to launch at host marina.
8. Official tournament hours are 5:45am to 2:00pm all fishing ceases. Saturday May
25, 2024. Contestants may
launch at any ramp on Lake Fork beginning at 4:00 am the morning of the tournament and head to their fishing holes.
First cast will be at 5:45 am, no fishing before 5:45am.
9. Weigh-in will be conducted at host marina Minnow Bucket Marina beginning at 2:00pm. You will have until
3:00pm to be in the weigh-in line with your fish. Please watch the line and allow your fish to remain in your live well with aerator running until the line goes down to reduce stress on the fish from being in weigh bags to long.
10. Upon entering this tournament, contestants release J C Outdoors officials and sponsors of this event from liability of accidents, losses, or thefts.
11. Registration may be by mail (if postmarked on or before Monday prior to event) and at host marina on the water
at 6:00pm until 9:00pm and on
pavilion on Friday May 24th

12. Lake Fork is slot lakes please observe the slot sizes.
Official measuring board will be Pro-Rule, a courtesy board will be available at weigh in. (Lake Fork Bass all species cannot touch the 16-inch mark and must touch the 24-inch mark to be legal.) Anyone who brings a slot fish to weigh-in will have that fish disqualified and receive a 2lb penalty. You could also face fines and disqualification from the tournament.
No iced or frozen fish will be weighed. Dead fish will have a 50 penalty, culling of dead fish is against State laws. We recommend the use of live well additives to increase the odds of maintaining healthy fish.
Tournament: All persons in boat
registered contestants. A team can consist of no more than two anglers with a maximum of one guide per team. All bass weighed in must be brought to the scales by one team member.
- No Fishing within 25 yards of another contestant’s boat
- All fishing must be done with artificial lures only. Pork is permitted. Contestants may use only one rod and reel at a time.
No trolling with combustion engine is allowed. All fish must be caught in a legal and sporting manner during tournament hours from tournament waters. Contestants may not leave the boat to land a bass. Underwater cameras or tracking devices may not be used during tournament hours. Hole sitting by or for contestants is not allowed.
16. Boats must have a live well and operating aeration system. at any time during tournament hours.
Contestants may keep no more than 5 bass in the live well
17. Scoring This is a 5 fish team stringer tournament.
Combining two cash awards and splitting the total between tied anglers will settle ties for cash prizes. Scoring for the
weighed in during tournament hours.

18. Trailering to and from the weigh-in is allowed.
